AegisterVPN for Android is a managed virtual private network designed to extend Aegister’s enterprise-grade protection to mobile workforces. We process only the data that is necessary to authenticate legitimate users, establish encrypted tunnels, and keep connections stable. 2. Data We Process
We keep the scope of personal data intentionally limited:
- Activation credentials (organisation name or licence key) – required to verify subscription status and grant VPN access.
- Technical telemetry such as session start/stop time, protocol negotiated, bandwidth consumed, and non-identifying diagnostic codes. This telemetry supports service continuity and SLA reporting. Browsing activity, destination IPs, and payload content are never logged.
- Support interactions that you voluntarily provide when contacting Aegister for help. These inputs are stored in secure ticketing systems to resolve the request and maintain an audit trail.
3. Android Permissions & Their Purpose
To deliver an uninterrupted secure connection the app depends on the following Android permissions and services:
- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – detect connectivity changes and route your traffic through Aegister’s encrypted gateways.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE – keep the VPN session active while AegisterVPN runs in the background, preventing unexpected drops.
- WAKE_LOCK – maintain the secure tunnel during brief device sleep events so your session resumes instantly when you re-engage.
- READ / WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE – store and retrieve encrypted configuration bundles, temporary certificates, or crash diagnostics you opt to share with support.
4. Use of VpnService
AegisterVPN relies on the native Android VpnService API to build a device-level tunnel.
All traffic is encapsulated using strong encryption and sent to Aegister’s infrastructure where
advanced threat intelligence and IP reputation services inspect and block malicious activity.
The tunnel isolates corporate communications from public networks while maintaining compliance
with your organisation’s security policies.
5. Security Measures
We apply layered security controls including certificate pinning, hardened infrastructure, continuous vulnerability scanning, and strict role-based access. Diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary for service quality and is encrypted at rest. Employees access production systems under the principle of least privilege and every interaction is logged.
6. Children’s Privacy
AegisterVPN is an enterprise product and is not marketed to or intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover such data has been provided, it will be securely deleted.
7. Policy Updates
We refine this notice whenever new platform capabilities or regulatory requirements emerge. The “Last updated” timestamp below reflects the most recent revision. Material updates will be communicated through the Google Play listing and, where appropriate, in-app messaging.
